Juergen Matthias Schroeder was born in Heinsberg near Aachen. He developed an early interest in international culture and friendship across borders.

The self-taught musician has composed ballads etc. on a great variety of subjects, with a special interest in social issues, but also displays a pendant towards the satire and a "lighter" kind of (musical) entertainment

He has performed at numerous musical, cultural & beneficial events beyond a regional level, and he has presented literary & musical programmes at various institutes of education, including a presentation of William Blake's social criticism

Professional activies

include academic work at the sports institute of RWTH university, Aachen, training and teaching at Grammar schools, publications & lectures in the field of sports science. He has given lectures on “English poetry set to music” in further teacher training (Regierungsbezirk Münster). He works as a college teacher. His integrative theatre work resulted in an award-winning school theatre play 1991 (NW) concentrating on the Titanic theme.

Juergen Matthias Schroeder wurde in Heinsberg bei Aachen geboren. Er entwickelte früh Interesse an internationaler Kultur und Freundschaft über die Grenzen hinaus.

Der musikalische Autodidakt hat Balladen usw. komponiert, die eine große Vielfalt an Themengebieten abdecken. Er hat ein spezielles Interesse an sozialen Fragen, bringt aber auch in Darbietungen eine Neigung zur Satire und "leichterer Unterhaltung" zur Geltung.

Nicht nur auf regionaler Ebene trat er bei zahlreichen Veranstaltungen musikalischer, kultureller und gemeinnütziger Art auf. Bei verschiedenen Bildungsträgern präsentierte er literarische und musikalische Programme, z.B. zu William Blakes sozialkritischen Gedichten:

Berufliche Aktivitäten

umfassen wissenschaftliche Tätigkeiten an der RWTH Aachen, Ausbildung und Unterricht an Gymnasien, Veröffentlichungen und Vorträge. Im Rahmen gymnasialer Lehrerfortbildung stellte er z. B. “English poetry set to music” vor (Regierungsbezirk Münster). Er arbeitet an einem Berufskolleg. Ein Erfolg seiner integrativen Theaterarbeit war 1991 der Gewinn eines Preises des Kultusministers NW für die Gestaltung und Regie eines Theaterstücks zum Thema "Titanic".

Juergen Matthias Schroeder è nato vicino a Aquisgrana. Aveva già da giovane un grande interesse per la cultura internazionale e per la cura di amicizie oltre frontiera.

Nei sui testi e brani l'autodidatta (piano, voce, chitarra) ha trattato una grande varietà di temi. Si è sempre interessato a temi sociali che si ritrovano per esempio nei suoi contributi a programmi artistici inter-culturali di beneficenza, ma ha anche una tendenza per la satira e uno stile di divertimento (musicale) "più leggero".

Attività professionali:

JM Schroeder è insegnante in una scuola tecnica professionale dove - oltre ai suoi impegni principali - ha ideato progetti di teatro integrativo con studenti di diversa provenienza. È regista ed autore di spettacoli teatrali scolastici, a cui ha anche contribuito con canzoni. Con un suo gruppo di teatro è stato premiato in un concorso di spettacolo teatrale scolastico nel 1991. Ha presentato riflessioni didattiche insieme a poesie, prose liriche e canzoni come ulteriore aggiornamento professionale per insegnanti.
